How Do You Tag A Business Page On Facebook

We were tired of seeing everyone doing it, we googled it and found some worthless stuff, but then there were some forum discussions that led us to find this. Here is a step by step guide as to how you can tag people on your Faceook Business Page status messages. It is easy but tiresome and has its own limitations.

Here you go

1. Sign into your Facebook profile and go to your Facebook business page (as a admin or someone with write to post, make sure you are signed in as the page). Now write a status message and click on the drop down next to post and you will see- Schedule Post, Backdate Post and Save Draft options.

2. Click on Schedule post. Schedule the post accordingly, if you are doing it for the same day, then make appropriate changes to the time.

3. Once you schedule the post, you will see it will show on your wall (only to you and the page admins) like this:

4. Now change back to your profile (your personal profile -admin profile) and visit your business page again. You will see on the right hand side, there is a drop down which will enable you to change back to your profile page or your business page.

5. Click on your profile page option like this:

6. And now click on the see post option of the scheduled post, which will keep showing on your wall. Now go the drop down of this schedule post and choose the edit option.

7. Edit this post and tag using @ like this:

Post Edit: Facebook is constantly changing its algorithm and hence the page roles and tagging ability. Before I do a new post on the same, here are some workaround for those of you who are not able to tag as a page.

1. Photo Tagging: If you are the admin of the page go the Settings > General> Tagging Ability > And do other people can tag photos - allow it. You can ask people to visit the post and tag themselves or their friends on it. You will have to manage the page from your profile to be able to tag your friends from your friend list on it.

Exceptions: Sometimes, you will have to open the photo link in another tab to be able to tag friends there. If you open the picture on the page with a black overlay window, it may not work.

2. Post Tagging: If you want to tag someone on your post start by typing their name, use Capital letter to do so, it will come up in the drop down menu. To tag a Page start by @ and then start typing the name. Although it works well in most situations, there can be some limitations at times.

Exceptions: The person tagging the other person (tagged) should be friends with that person, or the tagged person should have liked the page. This feature may not work through mobile.

Sometimes you would be able to tag the person from drop down, but the tagging will disappear, that is because the person being tagged has either set a 'review before someone tags you' feature on or has simply disallowed it. This is done at profile level and the individual has to remove it so as to get successfully tagged.

3. Comment Tagging: Reply to the comment or simply create a new comment, start by typing their name and it should come up. Exception: this feature may not work through mobile.

Try this both by logging in as a page and then managing the page using your profile (page role-admin). Do let me know if you guys are still not able to tag.
